Musk’s tweet came just a day after US Attorney General appointed special counsel for trump investigations. The tech mogul has been a vocal critic of Trump and has even called for his impeachment in the past. Elon Musk has reinstated several banned accounts , and this tweet got the most attention.
Twitter permanently suspends Donald Trump’s account
Twitter has permanently suspended Donald Trump’s account, citing “the risk of further incitement of violence” in the wake of the deadly US Capitol riot.
In a tweet on Trump’s account status, the social media platform said it had “permanently suspended” the @realDonaldTrump account “due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”
The move comes after Twitter temporarily locked Trump’s account for 12 hours following the violent insurrection at the US Capitol on Wednesday. At the time, Twitter said Trump had violated its rules against glorifying violence.
Trump has been a prolific user of Twitter over the years, using it to communicate directly with his supporters and often bypassing traditional news outlets. He has more than 88 million followers on the platform.
