PBBM to new PNP Chief – Champion a Police that is pro-country, pro-people and pro-environment

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed on Monday his full confidence and support to newly appointed Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, calling for close collaboration in addressing cybercrime, terrorism, and transnational crimes.

“Police General Marbil, you have my full confidence and my full support, as you begin to champion a police that is pro-God, pro-country, pro-people, pro-environment. Let us work closely with you in addressing emerging threats, such as cybercrime, terrorism, and transnational crimes,” President Marcos said in welcoming Police General Marbil, the 30th chief of the PNP.

“We shall continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and give the finest service to our beloved citizens. Let us now ensure that the PNP will be agents of progressive transformation in the lives of our people by ensuring the safety and well-being of every community in the land.”

Also during the change-of-command rites, the President extended his gratitude to the more than 230,000 men and women of the PNP who have been instrumental to the success of the organization and national development.

Marbil, 55, vowed to live up to the President’s expectations as he assumed the PNP leadership, thanking the chief executive for his leadership, loyalty, dedication and service.

“Ang pangarap ko, ay pangarap niyo rin. Matatag na ekonomiya, maayos na lipunan at maayos na kapulisan – ‘yan po unang kataga na sinabi ng Presidente during the inauguration. Ang masasabi ko po your Excellency, sir, matutupad po,” Marbil said.

“I look forward to my duties, may God continue to bless all of us and dito sa Bagong Pilipinas, isa lang ang gusto ng Pulis. Ligtas ka.”

Marbil formally succeeded Police Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. who ended his term as the PNP Chief on March 31, prompting President Marcos to appoint an officer-in-charge. PND
